Internet Resource Page

The web resource on Ancient Greece is relevant to my theme of ancient Greek additions to modern intellectual thought.Ê A weakness of the web page is that it does not list one of the philosophical thinkers that I promote in my PowerPoint presentation.Ê Although it does list Homer as well as other literary figures during the period, it gives no explanations of important philosophers during the period.Ê The web resource is invaluable in relation Greek art, architecture, history, Olympics and war.Ê Despite this, the Greeks main contribution to modern society, in my opinion, is intellectual thought and the page gives little to know information on this matter.Ê Greek philosophy is forgotten on most of the Greek web pages.Ê This page does supplement my theme because it is the ending of a unit in World History on ancient Greece.Ê

Anther page I would recommend is the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.Ê The language and word usage on this page can be somewhat cumbersome for a senior high school student.Ê This source still could help them while challenging still them.Ê I want the students to get the main idea of a few of these philosophical arguments.Ê This source will help them do this.

Lastly, this web page has a number of the philosophers that I have presented.  This page gives a brief overall description, understandable for a high school students, of a number of the philosophers described and more. A problem with this page is that there is a number of names and periods on a timeline, which clutters up the screen.  Despite this, if there is a period or person that one is interested in, then they click on it and a brief description of the period or person will be seen on the right hand side of the screen.
