Hi! My name is Toni Wright and I am the Assistant Director and Lead Instructor
for Midlands Technical College's Gear Up program. This is a program that targets
"at risk" middle and high school kids and tries to serve several purposes. First, we
attempt to keep them in school until graduation and try to get them into college. Second,
we provide an alternative learning environment which we hope stimulates learning and aids them
in improving their grades. Finally, we provide character education which we hope will help
them better cope with the challanges of life, increase self-respect and their respect for
others, be more organized, and improve the circumstances of their lives.
Currently, I am pursuing a masters degree at The University of South Carolina in the MAT
program. My field of study is social studies education. This portfolio is a project for my Educational Technologies class. In it you
