The Internet resource that I found most valuable to my theme was created by the Idaho State University. This website provides a complete primer on the Oregon Trail, a section on the historic sites along the trail, and a variety of trail books and documents etc. which can be purchased for use in the classroom. What's more, there is a great section entitled "Fantastic Facts about the Oregon Trail" and a full text archive of Trail diaries and books. This site has been named to the Forbes History Top Ten Best of the Web as well as Homeschool.com's Top 100 Web Sites. It can be accessed by clicking on the wagon below.
