Portfolio Theme

I chose to do my portfolio on volcanoes. This is a fifth grade science standard that I teach in my classroom. It is something that the students really enjoy and I wanted to work on making my part of it more interesting. I also wanted to learn more for myself. Information about volcanoes is often embedded in information about plate tectonics and other earth processes. However, I did not include these in my portfolio. I also limited my Powerpoint presentation to the different kinds of volcanoes. There is so much to tell about volcanoes, I simply had to make a choice of one topic to include.
