Internet Resources Page

This is the link to the Eyewitness web-site presented by Ibis Communications, Inc. This web-site is ideal for history buffs, students and teachers. It loads quickly and, in my experience has been reliable.

In addition to general information about history, this site contains some really excellent primary sources. Visitors to this site may view pictures, listen to sound clips and read first hand accounts of important historical events.

Overall, I have found this site easy to navigate and full of useful information. The only problem I have encountered is with downloading the sound files. I have attempted to download the wave files on several occasions with no success. At this point I donāt know if it is a problem with the web-site or operator error.

http://www.schoolhistory.co.uk

This is the link to the SchoolHistory.co.UK web-site. This is another of my favorite history web-sites. While this web-site is geared towards teachers, there is a lot of useful, fun stuff for students too.

For teachers, there are numerous down-loadable resources (including a very good Power Point presentation on how to write a history paper), on-line lesson plans and history quizzes. It also contains a discussion forum, a feedback section and site references.

For students there are some really neat interactive history games and a link to a homework research site.

This site is usually quick to load and reliable. I have never had a problem downloading anything on this page. In fact, the host does a very good job of calling attention to any changes. For example, he was asked to remove one of the interactive games from the web-site because of potential copyright problems and he posted an announcement telling users what had happened to the site. The only other challenge to using this site is a minor one. This site is based in the United Kingdom so some of the terminology is different and the grade level of the lessons is presented differently.

www.teacheroz.com

This is the link to the Teacher Ozās Kingdom of History. This is the "mother-load" of history web-sites. This is a must-have for every history teacher. Iāve roamed around this site a good bit and found that it loads quickly, is easy to navigate and is fairly reliable. I have run across a few links that are no longer valid, but compared to the number on this site, a few isnāt so bad. Bottom line·If you canāt find something about it here, good luck finding it anywhere!
