Instructional Software

The instructional purpose of Inspirations 6 is for students to create diagrams and outlines in relation to a subject and/or topic. Inspirations 6 is a great tool in the English classroom for prewriting strategies. Teachers can use this software to create handouts for students and outlines for weekly assignments. Teachers can also use Inspirations 6 in a lesson to model the creations of outlines and diagrams in order to show the connection between main idea and supporting details.

Strengths

I believe Inspirations 6 is an effective software program to assist the student who may need extra help and the student who learns quickly. The visuals in this program help the students who are a visual learners. The teacher and students can benefit from using Inspirations 6 in prewriting strategies, instruction, handouts, assignments, and modeling.

Weaknesses

The only weakness that I recognized while evaluating this software was if a student or teacher is not familiar with navigation then the process takes longer. Before a teacher gives a project or assignment from the Inspirations 6 Software, he/she should introduce the software to students and show them how to navigate in this software program.
