Theme Description

 

ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊ My portfolio theme is based on the young adult novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. The Outsiders is a young adult novel that students relate to because it deals with family and friend relationships, initiation, coming of age, teenage ãcliquesä, and even death. Set in the 1960s, the book follows the life of a fourteen-year-old boy, Ponyboy Curtis, who struggles to find his place in the world as a ãGreaserä.

My goal is for students to be able to use my web page and PowerPoint presentation to review parts of the novel and complete various tasks in order for me to assess their comprehension. The PowerPoint project will also allow students to use persuasive writing skills to compose their own review of the novel based on on-line reviews from hyper-links.
