S.E. Hinton's web site provides an opportunity for students to browse to learn more about the author of The Outsiders. The web site contains a brief biography of the author in which, among other things, students will learn that S.E. Hinton was only 16 when she wrote the her first book, The Outsiders.

Another link takes you to information about the three movies that have been produced based on S.E. Hinton novels. Finally, there is a Miscellaneous link that takes students to a Frequently Asked Questions page where they can read reader questions with the author responses. They can also submit their own questions.
The web site is easy to use. It is very informative, yet the information is concise enough for students to be able to browse in a short amount of time. If students wanted to do more in-depth research, they would need to use the site only as a beginning source. The web-site has a very personal feel that I think students would respond to positively. I think this internet resource will encourage students to read other books by the author.
