The software that I picked is called Decision's, Decisions: Racism. It is produced by Tom Snyder Productions. There are a variety of simulations under the "Decisions, Decisions" umbrella. Tom Snyder Productions also has on on-line version of "Decisions, Decisions", with topics ranging from School Prayer to Cloning. Information regarding the software, as well as other Tom Snyder products, can be found on-line at the Tom Snyder Productions web site, http://www.tomsnyder.com/. You may link to that page by clicking on the highlighted link above, "Tom Snyder Productions".
"Decisions, Decisions: Racism" is a simulation game and allows for a lot of discussion and debating. The students are placed on teams and the object of the game is to get a mayor elected. However, the mayor faces a lot of scrutiny over a store that is displaying Neo-Nazi merchandise. The students role play in advising the mayor. There is some reading that goes along with the game. The software would be suitable for middle grades. I choose this software because of the enormous amount of racism that was relevant in World War II.
