Teachers will examine issues related to planning lessons involving Web-based data and explore several examples that involve the use of data for teaching mathematical topics.  Web sites containing data will be explored, and sample lessons addressing algebra, data analysis, and different mathematical representations will be shared.

Using the Excel spreadsheet to analyze data:

    Several techniques for importing data.

Global warming data analysis involving statistics and a bar graph.

Smoking data analysis involving linear regression and scatterplot.

Using TI-83+ to analyze data:

Techniques for importing data using TI's Graphlink.

CO2 data analysis involving algebra, scatter plot, and prediction.

Using an applet to analyze data:

Accessing a web-based computer program (applet).

Drug elimination data analysis involving recursion and graphing.
